Does anybody have Norton Antivirus on there computer? If so (and you're an expert) I need help!

Well, I'm supposed to uninstall it and I don't know how too. I also need a FREE virus protection program that I can download off the internet. PLEASE!!!!!!!

That's the same stuff I have and my computer is fine. Definitely download zonealarm. I really like it. I also have Avast-antivirus, which is really nice. If I get a virus it's able to notice it right away.

C i am having vista home premium what happened my norton antivirus was asking to pay for renewal i uninstalled it and installed another free antivirus i was having internet explorer 7 when i opened it it was opening and when i closed it said intrnet explorer has stopped working then i shut down my computer the next day also happened the same thing it is not being close ls help me i am too nervous then i thought to download internet explorer 4 from a cd i downloaded it and in this case also it was showing the same thing help i tried to download another versions of ie from internet but it is not download it is being stopped ! help me

Could be a virus or even just another install currently being started and then stopped before it had time to finish. Try hitting ctrl + alt + del and go into your task manager and under processes see if you have a program called msiexec running. If so click it once and choose to end the process. To to download internet explorer 9 not 4..if you still get a download issue then you can try to hit ctrl + alt + del again and check out your processes to see if you have anything running that should be. (It's normally a trial and error event) and keep trying one by one shutting or ending task that look like they shouldn't be there and downloading the same file. Trust evenuatlly it will work.
in my point of view, ur norton is not fully unistall. so try to complete uninstall it and then install the good antivirus. dont be nervous. it may be just mismatch the file. that's all.

i used to use Bearshare 5.2, but it was driving me crazy by its " zango search assistant " becouse my antivirus was keeping telling me that its a spyware file

Bear share is full of nasty little programs that ruin you computer. Use limewire instead they do give you any trojans or viruses when you download. Also the format is more convenient than bear share's.

However, both give you access to the same network. So if you download files using bear share or lime wire it doesn't matter.

Your computer will be safe as long as you stay away from videos. They often are just adware is disguise. Music files will be safe as long as you get MP3 or WMA format. Really though as long as you have an anti-virus program you don't have anything to worry about. Just scan your computer if you open something that seems suspicious.

there is always pop ups windows that reminds me that my computer is slow due to infection.one of them it says that i must download immediately spyware-secure (i think is from MS) and another window that says that my IE7 has problem and need fixing and must download the previous spyware.My PC and IE works nice.I have windows XP(not original) spybot and nod32.they dont detect anything even in safe mode.what i should do?buy original windows or buy antivirus.i now have free antivirus.i am very satisfied from spybot but not with nod.any suggestions?thanks anyway.

An example given above is graphics software - one I have seen (many years ago, cannot remember the name of it) would let you do everything for an unlimited time, but every image that was eventually produced had a watermakr of the company over it, so it could not be used for anything other than trying out the software.

As an alternate to Symantec Antivuris, why not use AVG? It has enough features (ie email scanning, automatic updates, etc) for personal use, and is available free of monetary charge (but it is closed source).
