Is messenger discovery bad?

I want to try downloading MSN messenger discovery on my laptop, but Ive heard loads of people saying its a virus, and has a trojan horse and can't be removed, messages not being delivered, msn not working etc etc.

How dangerous is it, does anybody have it and had any problems relating to it?

I have windows live messenger, a norton scanner (free version so won't remove anything) and the free AVG antivirus software.

Download it off of www.msn.com and youll be fine....as for the people you chat with, you can monitor that....im safe! lol. best of luck!
